Gender has marked the lives of women and men in different ways, namely, rural women working in the agricultural sector face obstacles due to a gender bias that hinders their economic and social growth. Therefore, through quantitative data, the research aims to analyze the gender bias in the agricultural sector of the Tarqui parish, and its impact on the lives of rural women. The design was descriptive and cross-sectional, using the simple random probability sampling method; for the distribution of the sample, the organizations integrated only by women were considered, giving a total of 67 women; with a confidence level of 92% and an error of 8%,". The instrument was a questionnaire that was applied to rural women belonging to the agro-productive associations of the parish of Tarqui. Among some of the most relevant findings are that the agricultural system of Tarqui is characterizedby a gender bias; the rural women associated with Tarqui are attached to the idea of "femininity", which makes them develop their lives under social norms based on gender roles, among others.
