Item Agentes patógenos en secreción vaginal de las trabajadoras sexuales que acuden al Centro de Salud Pumapungo. Cuenca, 2016(Universidad de Cuenca, 2017-11-11) Calle Peñafiel, Byron Hernán; Guzmán Aldaz, Luis David; Sempértegui Coronel, Sandra Mariana; Cárdenas Carrera, Jenny CarolaThe objective of the investigation was the determination of pathogens in vaginal secretion of the sex workers who visited the Pumapungo Health Center in 2016, vaginal infection is an alteration in the normal bacterial flora of the vagina caused by different pathogenic microorganisms (1) (2) The study was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The study population consisted of 608 sex workers and the sample selected according to the random sampling formula were 168 sex workers, the samples were received in the External Gynecological Consultation and their processing was performed in the Department of Microbiology of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, patients signed the informed consent and a survey was carried out related to the study variables, the study objective and its importance (2) (3) 51.8% had pathogens, 46.4% had bacterial growth and 4.2% had mycotic forms. 47% of women workers are between 18 and 24 years old. 88.1% of the respondents use some contraceptive method, of which 53.6% have barrier methods, 32.7% hormonal and 11.9 simply do not use it. 40.5% of sex workers are groomed three to four times a day, and 38.1% do so after each sexual relationship. The most frequent germ correspond to Escherichia coli 37.9%, followed by 19.5% Klebsiella pneumoniae, and a mycotic growth of 9.1% of the total samples. The 43.7% of samples analyzed corresponded to persons between 18 and 24 years of age, of which 26.4% were due to Gram negative bacteria infection, 9.2% Gram positive and 5.7% due to mycotic forms . OBJECTIVE: To determine the frequency of high-risk genotypes of the human papillomavirus by polymerase chain reaction in female patients of Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. Cuenca 2018. METHODOLOGY: Study observational descriptive and cross-sectional for the determination of the frequency of high-risk genotypes of the human papillomavirus by polymerase chain reaction in female patients at Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. This descriptive study was conducted in 200 diabetic patients, samples were obtained under biosafety standards, quality control and processed in the Clinical Laboratory Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital The 26% are male and 74% female, average age is 56,3 years, the body mass index of 27,7 kg/m2, sick time of 7,5 years and the range of controls 2,7 months. The average value of the glycosylated hemoglobin is 8,5±1,3%, 12,6% maximum value, minimum value 5,1%, median 8,5%, mode 8,6% and variance fashionable 1,8%. The 47% of diabetic patients studied did not have microalbuminuria. General Objective: Determine the prevalence of patients diagnosed with Tuberculosis in the Regional Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso of the city of Cuenca in the period 2015-2016. Methodology: The study was descriptive, observational, retrospective with patients diagnosed with Tuberculosis admitted to the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, through the collection of information by direct observation of the medical records and the database of patients in the year 2015-2016. tabulated the data obtained in the forms with SPSS 20.0 to obtain the total prevalence, then analyzed and classified the information according to the established variables. Results: The male sex predominates with 55.9% in 2015 and 57.7% in 2016, predominating 71-80 years (13.7%) in 2015 and 21-30 years (16.6%) in 2016. Obtaining 59 positive cases (20.8%) for Tuberculosis in 2015-2016. Pulmonary Tuberculosis predominates with 37 cases (11.4%), against 22 cases (9.4%) of Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis. The Hospital used for patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis Hospitalization (56.8%), for Clinical Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis with 40.9%. For diagnosis of Extrapulmonary Tuberculosis, the most frequently delivered sample is Pleural Fluid and Bronchial Aspiration. For Pulmonary Tuberculosis it is necessary to deliver two sputum for the confirmation of a positive case.Item Principales alteraciones en el hemograma de los habitantes de Sarapamba Yutuloma, Tambo-Cañar julio 2015-enero 2016(Universidad de Cuenca, 2016-11-11) Trelles Ávila, Nataly Elizabeth; Zúñiga Matute, Jessica Andrea; Sempértegui Coronel, Sandra Mariana; Cárdenas Carrera, Jenny CarolaBACKGROUND: The blood count constitutes a set of basic tests that are most requested in the clinical evaluation of the patient, which allows to determine the overall health of the individual. The study takes importance in detecting blood diseases, indicating their prevalence and the possible associated factors. OBJECTIVE: To determine the main alterations in the blood count of the population of Sarapamba Yutuloma, Tambo – Cañar. July 2015 – January 2016. METHODOLOGY: The study was based on the descriptive type of cross-section, in a finite universe of 180 (one hundred eighty) people. Previous to the development of the research the population of Sarapamba Yutuloma signed the informed consent; surveys were applied in which it was included information related to the variables of the study: age, sex, nutrition, anemia, pregnancy, symptomatology, hematologic values. For the recording sampling and results relevant forms were used and for the tabulation and the analysis of information, the SPSS V22 Software and Microsoft Excel. RESULTS: Of the 171 people who belongs to the 66,1 % are women and the predominant age group corresponds to the ages 15 between 45 with the 47,9%. The 17% presents Polyglobulia and a 5,3 % manifest low Hemoglobin with a 2,9% in children minor to 5 years old. The 4,1 % have Leukocytosis and the 2,9 % have Leukopenia. The Leukocyte formula: the 22,2% Neutrophilia, the 25,1% Lymphocytopenia, the 11,7% Monocytosis. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Determine the frequency of the main isolated bacteria and the resistance that they present in samples of cultures of hospitalized patients by Hospital service Vicente Corral Moscoso January 2015 December 2016. METHODOLOGY: A descriptive, observational and retrospective study was carried out, the universe was composed of 3,929 reports of positive microbiological cultures and the sample of 2,223 isolates with some mechanism of resistance. In order to obtain results, the Epicenter system plus the data collection card were used and for the data tabulation the software SPSS V15 and Microsoft Excel were used. RESULTS: In 2015 the most isolated bacterium was K. pneumoniae with 327 cultures; in surgery on bone samples, ESBL production was found in 12 cultures (17.6%) and carbapenemasas in 7 cultures (24.1%); the sex with the highest prevalence of cultures with resistance mechanisms was male with 600 samples; in 2016 the bacterium with the highest number of isolates was SCN with 328 cultures; in surgery the bone samples presented 6 cultures (7.7%) with ESBL production and 4 cultures (14.8%) of carbapenemase; the sex with the highest prevalence of cultures with resistance mechanisms was male with 566 samples. This research identified the sex, age, marital status, origin, residence and occupation of the individuals who were prosecuted for possession, use or trafficking of marijuana or cocaine and have a psychosomatic examination of the case. Such illnesses are a direct outcome of the patients care. It is estimated, that more than 347 million of persons suffer from diabetes worldwide, in which 3.4 million of subjects cease to recover. (1) OBJECTIVE: Identify the diversity of bacterial flora of the oral cavity from diabetes patients aged 45 to 70 years old. Those of who attend the DONUM foundations located in Cuenca, from the period of October 2015 to march of 2016. METHODOLOGY: In this research we will use a cross sectional study. All information gather from the different test will be analyzed with the program SPSS22 as well as graphics and spread sheets in Excel. RESULTS: It was determined that 76.7% of diabetic patients do not have adequate control of the disease. The oral cavity is host was host to 26 different bacterias. The most common was Gram positives (19). The most prevalent was Streptococcus Mitis, with a 81.67%. Lactobacillus was the second most prevalent bacteria on the study group with a 28.33% It was also noted that some Gram negative bacterias were not common (7), such as Pseudomona Aeruginosa 1,67% , Serratia plymuthica 1,67%, Klebsiella oxytoca 6,67%, Serratia liquefaciens 1,67%,Klebsiella neumonae 1,67%, Enterobacter spp 1,67%.
