Cuenca-Ecuador. 2016(2017) Segarra Cumbe, Karen Elizabeth; Serrano Béjar, Mónica Viviana; Borja Robalino, Brigith Vanessa; Abril Matute, Cumandá PatriciaBackground: Knowing the satisfaction or dissatisfaction of users will allow to provide tools for the development of strategies focused on the area of medical care, knowing the reality of the needs, experiences and expectations of the user. Objective: To determine the satisfaction of patients in the area of Obstetrics, with the care provided by doctors and nurses of the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, Cuenca. Materials and methods: Descriptive study, whose universe was the patients hospitalized in the area of obstetrics of Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso; In the period from October to December 2016. The sample consisted of 422 patients. In order to tabulate and analyze the collected data, we used Microsoft Excel 2013 and SPSS 22. We used frequency and percentage distribution, measures of central tendency (Medium and Median) and dispersion (DS). Results: The mean age of the patients under study was 25.41 ± 5.86 years, the group of young adults (20-35 years) predominated, the 79.7% were in free or married unions. Less than 28.4% have completed high school. Patients are mainly housewives. The satisfaction of patients with medical and nursing care is high, more than 85% of patients emit criteria of GOOD and VERY GOOD when evaluating them.
