    Mitos y creencias de la menopausia en mujeres de edad entre los 40 a 50 años que acuden al Centro de Salud de Piñas Grande El Oro en el año 2022

    Background: Menopause marks the end of women's reproductive life, which is generally defined as menstrual irregularity and twelve months after the menstrual period, which implies a biopsychosocial process that may be influenced by ethnic, psychological, social, and cultural factors. Objectives: To describe the myths and beliefs about menopause in women between 40 and 50 years of age who attend the Piñas Grande Health Center in the city of Piñas. Methodology: A study with a qualitative phenomenological approach with a descriptive scope was carried out. For the data collection it was executed; Through in-depth interviews with 6 women who met the inclusion criteria set out in this research, the data obtained was analyzed through the Atlas program. Ti, which allowed us to carry out the coding. Results: The most common myths that exist during the menopausal stage in women aged 40 and 50 years who attend the Piñas Grande Health Center were: Loss of sexual appetite, age disorders, psychological disorders, and family dysfunction; Similarly, the beliefs with the greatest influence at this stage are: Drink fig leaf tea, eat goose eggs and drink punch. Conclusions: The myths and beliefs of the population studied are the result of sources of information obtained through friends, family, and the Internet.
