This study evaluated the productive performance of 80 crossbred guinea pigs of the Peruvian line during 90 days of fattening under a mixed feeding system. A completely randomized design was applied with four treatments (n = 20 each): T0 (control, forage only), T1 (15 g concentrate/animal/day), T2 (25 g concentrate/animal/day) and T3 (35 g concentrate/animal/day), all receiving ad libitum ryegrass. Treatment T3 showed the best performance in final weight (1 312,5 g), total weight gain (994,3 g), weekly mean gain (76,5 g) and daily mean gain (10,9 g), as well as in hot carcass weight (942,1 g) and chilled carcass weight (922,5 g). Regarding carcass yield and cumulative feed conversion, T2 (6,7) and T3 (6,1) outperformed the other treatments. Maximum green forage intake, expressed as a percentage of live weight, was higher in T0 (35,4–49,0 %) and decreased progressively with increasing supplementation, indicating a substitution effect. Total dry matter intake showed no significant differences among treatments. Economic analysis indicated that T3 was the most profitable treatment, with a benefit–cost ratio of 1,33. It is concluded that supplementation with 35 g concentrate/animal/day improves productive efficiency and profitability under the conditions of this study.
