    Prevalencia de la adherencia y factores asociados a la terapeuta farmacológica y no farmacológica antihipertensiva en pacientes del área 2 de salud de Miraflores, Cuenca 2011

    Treatment of chronic diseases requires changes in lifestyle and proper adherence to therapy, which has been and remains a highly relevant clinical problem, especially in the management of hypertensive patients. Hypertension (HTA) is now an important public health problem worldwide and in Ecuador ranks third among the causes of mortality. Objetive: To determine the prevalence of adherence and factors associated with drug therapy and pharmacological antihypertensive in health center patients José Maria Astudillo Regalado area of Miraflores. Cuenca 2011. Methodology: A study of prevalence Cross in health center two of Cuenca for a period of 6 months, the universe were hypertensive patients attending the hypertension club health center two of Cuenca for the period 2010 to 2011. Detection was effected those that adhere to therapy, to determine their prevalence during this period. Results: The sample consisted of 191 people from a total of 229 hypertensive patients. The population is predominantly adherent to drug therapy, with 56%, while 44% was considered non-adherent, the majority (70.70%) of the study population were female, and 29.30% male; nonadherence in women is more marked than in males, represented 73.5% of the adherent population sample. They include a larger number of patients with controlled blood pressure. Conclusion: Over half of those under antihypertensive medication were considered adherent as outlined by the Review, together this is associated with a significant number of people well-controlled blood pressure, likewise through the comparative analysis between the results research and selected bibliography, reveals a variety of factors that are associated with adherence.
