Item Prevalencia y factores asociados a prolapso genital, en mujeres entre 35 – 60 años, Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, Cuenca, 2017(2019) Sarmiento Ayala, Blanca Elena; Guamán González, Edgar PatricioBackground: Genital prolapse is the displacement of pelvic organs through the vaginal canal, is multifactorial and can affect the quality of life of women, in the physical, psychological and sexual aspect. Objective: To determine the prevalence and factors associated with genital prolapse in women between 35 and 60 years old that attended the outpatient gynecology department of the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital during 2017. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted, 196 women entered by sequential allocation. The sample was calculated based on the prevalence of the lowest associated factor, with 95% confidence and 4% inference error. The data analysis was performed with the SPSS Software version 23 free of charge. Values of p <0.05 were considered significant, the association was established by the prevalence ratio. Results: The median age was 46 years; the number of vaginal deliveries fluctuated between 0 and 8; 34.2% presented obesity. The prevalence of genital prolapse was 19.9% (95% CI 14.3 - 25.5) and was associated with multiparity (RP 1.9, 95% CI 1.11 - 3.51, p 0.025); menopause (RP 4.82, 95% CI 2.80 - 8.31, p 0.000) and history of hysterectomy (RP 3.63, 95% CI 2.12 - 6.21, p 0.000); grade II prolapse was the most frequent (10.7%), along with prolapse Ba (13.3%). Objective: To determine the prevalence and identify risk factors associated with depressive behavior in children of 33 schools from ten rural parishes of the Cuenca city enrolled in the academic year 2010 to 2011. Materials and Methods: This study was descriptive, cross-section, which includes a universe of 10,718 children of the fifth, sixth and seventh year of basic education for all rural schools in Cuenca, just by randomization was obtained a sample of 403 children belonging to 33 schools in ten rural parishes of the canton and only 375 children met the inclusion criteria. The instrument used to measuring was a collection form that containing: socio-demographic variables, test CDI (Children's Depression Inventory) long version in Spanish, APGAR test for family functioning, the same as those applied prior informed consent of parents family. Results: 12% had major depression, 24.8% presented moderate depression, 54.1% were female, family dysfunction was identified in 21.3%, 18.7% live in urban and 34.1% had a family that has emigrated. Conclusion: The prevalence of childhood depression in our study was 36.8%, with 12% major depression and 24.8% moderate depression. The risk factors found in this study were: dysfunctional families, place of residence and families of children, who have migrated.
