(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-12-21) Sangurima Quito, Jackeline Priscila; González Loor, María Isabel
This research is descriptive with a quantitative approach, it aims to identify the levels of creativity through the application of the CREA Test in the students of the 8th, 9th and 10th grades; to then correlate the results with academic performance and behavior. To do this, the indicated instrument was used and a documentary analysis of the school year promotion ballots was made regarding behavior and academic performance. We worked with a stratified random sample of 103 high school students, belonging to the Manuel Muñoz Cordero School of Basic Education in the city of Azogues-Ecuador. The results show that the majority of students are at the low level of creativity (53.4%), followed by those with a medium level of creativity (40.8%), with very few reaching a high level. of creativity (5.8%). Regarding academic performance, the majority reaches the required learning (84.5%); while, regarding behavior, the majority reaches a very satisfactory level (81.5%). No significant correlation was found between performance and creativity (correlation coefficient 0.022); but wasfound between behavior and creativity (correlation of 0.2). These results allow to conclude that, as the behavioral problems of some students of the institution studied increase, their level of creativity increases.
