This study addresses the relationship between entrepreneurial attitude and personality traits among students at the University of Cuenca who participated in the social challenge IMPACT IV. We employed a quantitative and cross sectional approach, administering surveys to 83 participating students based on theoretical models to analyze personality traits, entrepreneurial attitude, and the additional variable of entrepreneurial intention. Our main objective was to determine how these variables interact and contribute to the development of entrepreneurial competencies. Results from exploratory factor analysis and multiple regression show that innovation stands out as the most significant component of entrepreneurial attitude among participants. Additionally, behavioral control emerges as a factor influencing entrepreneurial intention, highlighting the importance of leadership, knowledge in management and marketing, and skills such as creativity and perseverance. We conclude that personality plays a crucial role in shaping successful entrepreneurs. The IMPACT challenge serves as a valuable tool for developing creativity, innovation, and leadership through proactivity, problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making—fostering entrepreneurial competencies. For future studies, we recommend conducting longitudinal analyses and exploring group dynamics in greater detail to better understand the factors influencing entrepreneurship.
