The present work was carried out in the central campus of the University of Cuenca, with the objective of knowing and analyzing from the gender perspective the perceptions that the students of the sixth and eighth cycle of the Pedagogy of Physical Activity and Sport on sexgeneric diversities, during the period March-August 2022. It was taken into account that the central problem was based on the little information that teachers and authorities of educational institutions have about sex-generic diversities and inadequate intervention in situations of discrimination faced by gender-sex diversities and the invisibility of this population. In this study, the methodology had a qualitative approach, for which semi- structured interviews were conducted that allowed collecting specific information on the subject, the sample consisted of 10 students, who are in training as teachers. In the same way, within the perceptions of the students interviewed, the lack of knowledge on gender issues and therefore of gender-sex diversities was determined. In addition, the influence of social prejudices on their perceptions was shown. Their awareness of the existence of situations of discrimination against the LGBTIQ+ population within educational institutions was evidenced, however, there was a lack of knowledge of the correct ways to intervene andapply gender issues in their Physical Education classes. They generally agreed that these problems must be eradicated and recognized that even though they have a subject that deals with equality and diversity, it focuses only on people with disabilities, therefore, they understood the importance of including the gender approach more thoroughly within their training, in order to generate more inclusive classes.
