(2020-02-17) Anguisaca Rojas, Karla Vanessa; Salto Encalada, Jacqueline Marlene; Barzallo Neira, Cristina Andrea
The present intervention project entitled Updating the inventory of tourist attractions in Paute canton according to the methodology of the Ministry of Tourism 2017 represents an information tool, which identifies sites of tourist interest and prioritizes those that present the best conditions to receive visitors, therefore, it is a basis for tourism planning in the canton. The Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GADs) have several competencies in the tourism field, one of them is to maintain an updated Inventory of tourist attractions. Paute canton has an inventory of attractions elaborated with the Ministry of Tourism methodology of 2004, in which twenty-two attractions were identified; however, in 2017 a new Methodology was issued. This project updates the Inventory under this methodology and takes as base the information of the previous inventory, the Development Plans and Territorial Ordination, and complements it with interviews with presidents and personnel in charge of the tourist area of each one of the parish GADs and some of the local population; with it 54 sites of tourist interest are identified, 22 correspond to tourist attractions and 32 are tourist resources.
