    Perfil clínico y epidemiológico de los pacientes con alteración del neurodesarrollo menores de 5 años hospitalizados en el departamento de Pediatría del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. Enero 2020 a marzo 2021

    Background: Neurodevelopmental disorders are a set of chronic entities that generate future consequences, timely detection and early treatment is essential. Objective: To identify the clinical and epidemiological profile of patients with neurodevelopmental disorders under 5 years of age hospitalized in the pediatric department of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. January 2020 to March 2021. Methodology: quantitative, descriptive study conducted in 123 patients at risk of neurodevelopmental impairment detected by the EDI test (Infant Development Assessment) who met the inclusion criteria. The information was obtained with a survey, with the data from the medical history and with the signing of the informed consent. Descriptive statistical analysis was used. Results: the younger infant age group (52.8%), male (56.9%) predominated. The prevalence of global developmental delay was 27.6%. The delay by areas was: gross motor skills 23.6%, language 22.8% and fine motor skills 16.3%. The associated pathology was the cerebellar syndrome (3.3%); the predominant clinical pathology was respiratory (30.9%), they presented moderate malnutrition (39%), in maternal, peri and postnatal pathological antecedents the following predominated: urinary tract infection (62.6%), low birth weight (15.4%) and CNS infections (23.6%). Conclusions: the detection of neurodevelopmental alterations in hospitalized patients is important to establish care protocols
