Item Manual de estrategias bioclimáticas para edificios de oficinas y consultorios, en zonas cálido-húmedas basado en el caso de estudio del Edificio Medicenter en Machala(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-02-19) Araujo Jaramillo, Doménica de Cassia; Salazar Aguilar, Gianela Maylen; Sánchez Castillo, José HernánThe project of this curricular integration work has as its main objective to develop a practical and effective manual of bioclimatic strategies for the construction and operation of office buildings and medical offices, which respond to environmental conditions within the city of Machala, taking as a case of study the Medicenter Building located at Av. Circunvalación Norte and Av. 8va Norte. These facilities, as they belong to the health area, have specific requirements, such as different energy demands and good ventilation to preserve the well-being of both patients and staff, which creates a more complex path to reach comfort. Therefore, this work plan seeks to address the lack of specific standards and recommendations for the construction and operation of sustainable buildings, which can result in a negative environmental impact, higher operation and maintenance costs, and a lack of consideration of the quality of life of building users. Therefore, an exhaustive review of the existing literature on the subject of sustainable buildings and the case study of the Medicenter Building will be carried out. In which, the most effective and viable bioclimatic strategies will be identified, verified through energy efficiency programs. Based on this research, a manual of sustainable strategies for buildings will be developed that can be applied in practice to reduce environmental impact and improve comfort. In summary, this manual of sustainable strategies for buildings will provide specific guidelines for energy efficiency. The manual will be designed for building owners, designers and builders, in order to encourage the construction and operation of sustainable buildings in Machala.
