    Prevalencia de uso de condón en las trabajadoras sexuales, atendidas en el área de Salud 4, Carlos Elizalde. Yanuncay, Cuenca 2016

    Background: correct and consistent use of latex condoms can reduce (but not eliminate) the risk of transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. Inconsistent use of condoms can lead to transmission because transmission can occur with a single sexual act. Similarly, if condoms are not used properly, their protective effect may decrease even be used constantly. Objective: To determine the prevalence of condom use among sex workers attended in the Health Area 4 "Carlos Elizalde". Yanuncay, Cuenca. Methodology: A descriptive study in which participated 118 sex workers met in 2016 in the health center "Carlos Elizalde", the research was conducted through surveys. Results: the prevalence of condom use in all sexual relations was 70.3%; the average age of onset in sex work was about 18 years. An average number of daily customers of 20.
