    Evaluación del impacto de la pensión para adultos mayores sobre la oferta laboral de los hogares con beneficiarios en el Ecuador período 2012-2013

    In this paper, we estimate the impact of the “Pensión para Adults Mayores (PAM)” on household labor supply for the urban sector, measured by the average number of hours worked by the household, using the panel June 2012 – June 2013 of the ENEMDU. To determine the effect generated by the PAM was used the difference in differences combined with Propensity Score Matching. The results indicate that the pension for older adults has not had an indirect impact; ie no effect on the average labor supply of co-residents of a beneficiary, but rather is a direct impact on beneficiaries feminine. Therefore, there is not sufficient evidence to reject the household behavior conforms to a unitary model.
