Modelo matemático como apoyo para la gestión estratégica del lineal de una tienda minorista
(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-10-21) Salamea Castro, Cinthya Jacqueline; Jadán Avilés, Diana Carolina
Given the change in buyer behaviour today and, in turn, with the potential growth of products, retailers have to stimulate merchandise purchase and improve their space allocation on the shelves. That is why, to face this problem, many companies have turned to the optimization of linear management to make their products more attractive and consequently maximize their profits. This paper proposes to design a mathematical model unifying two associated models to solve the strategic management of the shelf in retail stores. Space management focuses on optimizing resources and arranging items on the shelves to improve customer flow. This proposal will treat the management of spaces by optimizing the unit profit per centimeter used by the facing of each product using linear programming and the customer flow with a consumer decision tree, executed through machine learning, specifically with the C5.0 classification tree. Finally, with the analysis results, the category's planogram is designed, which is nothing more than the dimensional and localization representation of the selected type within the shelf where it is located.
