    Estrategias para la recuperación de quebradas en centros urbanos de ciudades andinas, caso de estudio: Azogues - Ecuador

    Growth population of the cities, generates eruptions on the ravine, affecting their functionality, turning them into contaminated sites and waste disposal, a situation observed in Azogues, with a few evaluation references that allow an appropriate intervention. For methodology It was proposed to study 19 gobbing ravines and open ravines of the urban area were taken, the components were established by the study of satellite maps and photos. The ecological component was evaluated with the IHF (River habitat index), QBR-And (Riparian forest quality index-andean) and ABI (Benthic macroinvertebrates) protocols. Local regulations regarding the management of ravines were reviewed. Then the visual component was analyzed by the observation of panoramic and experiential photographs. Based on the parameters found, recovery strategies were established. The results obtained are: the image improvement of the ravines, generation of infiltration in the urbanized environment, complementation of the agricultural activity with the function of revine, stabilization of slopes, intervention with ecological projects, generation of sewerage system, irrigation and gray water management, revegetation with suitable species, generation of projects that complement and merge private plots with public use, normative regulations for seasonal and permanent ravines, use of accessible topography, ecological improvement of the ravines, regulation for constructions within the protection margin, cleaning and replacement of substrate, regulation of margins protection of gobbing ravines and maintenance of ducts.
