The Chicán village is in a process of strong cultural transformation due to the influence of globalization and social phenomena, one of which is migration, which, as is collective knowledge, has hit southern Ecuadorian area. This has been the reason for the disappearance of cultural traces in the village, which is why we tried to make a description of the tangible and intangible culture, making an ethnographic, archaeological, and community communication study. According to the ethnographic data collected during the investigation through direct observation, interviews, and surveys, it can be seen that are still latent cultural traits and the parish such as clothing, festivities, oral tradition, and gastronomy. In recognition of the study area, it was found fortuitously pottery, which led us to devote a chapter of archaeological analysis in our research. Two sites were studied Cerro "Huacarrumi" and "Maria Auxiliadora". Pottery fragments collected were subjected to a process of analysis; course of this study it was determined that have affiliation Cashaloma (Integration Period AD 500 -. 1500 AD.). The viability of the parish Chicán consists of old roads that led to the cattle ranches in the hills, which facilitated the extraction of agricultural products to the community center as milk, grains, even in the era of liquor smuggling; but there are new roads that have greatly facilitated the economic and industrial activities chicanences.
