Item Propuesta visual contemporánea para una concienciación medioambiental, basada en la refuncionalización estética de productos desechables(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-15) Rubio Rivera, Camila Alexandra; Pacheco Ayora, Sonia KatterineThe excessive and irresponsible consumption, coupled with ignorance and poor waste management, has resulted in the planet being overrun by non-degradable waste that will last for miles of years. In Ecuador, for example, each inhabitant produces approximately 1 kg of waste per day. In this context, I propose aesthetically reclaim disposable products in a contemporary proposal for environmental awareness. Thus, the work Street Trash becomes a multidisciplinary product that includes collage, Paste Up, and video art; constructed through creative experimentation with common waste materials such as plastics, papers, and nylon bags. As a research-creative method, drift is employed for the collection of non-aestheticized pieces, originating from public spaces, which, once treated artistically, are reintroduced into citizen coexistence. In this way, an aesthetic experience is constructed in which the interaction of the viewer stands out with a striking work that crosses their path through streets, bridges, and urban constructions, forcing them to observe and reflect on the large islands of garbage that grow daily in cities, fields, and even rivers, lakes, and seas, as abstract symbols of an aesthetic cartography of the abject.
