Item Frecuencia de las complicaciones en el puerperio inmediato de las pacientes atendidas en el servicio de ginecología y obstetricia del Hospital de Especialidades José Carrasco Arteaga, enero-diciembre 2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-11-08) Romero Vergara, Melissa Liseth; Suárez Ortuño, Cinthya Madelyne; Ñauta Baculima, Manuel JaimeIntroduction: The puerperium is the period during which maternal anatomical and physiological changes induced by pregnancy return to the non-gestational state, usually lasting 6 or 8 weeks. If the evolution of this period is not within the normal parameters, it is related to some puerperal complication, therefore, this research focuses on the frequency of complications in the immediate puerperium, whose results will serve as a source of information for the medical community. Objective: Determine the frequency of complications in the immediate puerperium of patients attended at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service of the Especialty José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital, 2021. Materials and method: Cross-sectional retrospective descriptive study, the universe were 110 patients who presented complications in the immediate puerperium, the data were collected using a form developed by the authors; the tabulation and analysis of the data was performed in the statistical program SPSS and Microsoft Excel with parameters of frequency, percentage and mean. Results: In the Especialty José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital, during 2021 of 508 deliveries attended, 21.65% (110) presented complications in the immediate puerperium, and are the following Atony/hypotonia 37.27% (41), postpartum hypertension 10.09% (21), postpartum anemia 19.09% (21), incomplete delivery 11.82% (13), birth canal tears 10% (11) and uterine rupture 2.73% (3). The 19-34 age group had more complications and the mean was 30 years.
