Caso: Cuenca, Ecuador(2021) Tacuri Reino, René David; Romero Cisneros, Denisse Micaela; Pacheco Ortega, Jimmy Mauricio; Guerrero Jimenez, Kattya MineskaThe research examined the relationship between emotional intelligence and anxiety incaregiver and non-caregiver college students during the corona pandemic. Several studies indicate the emergence of mental health risk factors, such as anxiety, during a health emergency. Whereas emotional intelligence could help as a protective factor, itis a question of whether this and other factors differentiate when people act as caregiver. Sixty college students, respectively 28 caregivers and 32 non-caregivers, participated in this study. The research had a descriptive and cross-sectional non-experimental design and used the Wong and Law' Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS) and the Hamilton Anxiety scale as instruments for measuring the relationship between anxiety and emotional intelligence. The results showed that no significant differences exist between the group of caregivers and non-caregivers while a significant correlation was found between anxiety and emotional intelligence levels; higher levels of emotional intelligence produce lower levels of psychic anxiety. The findings of this explorative study suggest considering in future research variables such as resilience and uncertaintyItem Inteligencia emocional y autoeficacia en trabajadores de la empresa Practi-car de la ciudad de Cuenca, en el período 2022-2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-02-28) Romero Cisneros, Denisse Micaela; Ávila Larrea, Javier AlejandroEmotional intelligence is the ability to recognize one's own and others' emotions, while self-efficacy are beliefs in a person's abilities to organize and execute the action resources necessary to produce certain achievements, therefore, emotional intelligence and self-efficacy are shown as predictors of teamwork. Therefore, this research aims to describe the levels of emotional intelligence and general self-efficacy of the workers of the Practicar company according to their sociodemographic variables. In turn, identify emotional intelligence according to its dimensions and the general perceived self-efficacy of employees. The research was developed with a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional, non-experimental design. Two instruments were used: Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS-S) with a Cronbach's alpha .83 to 0.90 and the General Self-Efficacy Scale in the Spanish version Bäbler, Schwarzer and Jerusalem with a Cronbach's alpha between 0.79 and 0.93. The sample was 61 employees made up of 40 men and 21 women from different branches. The results obtained reveal that the participants obtained a high value in the emotional assimilation dimension (M=6.3; SD= 0.8) compared to the interpersonal perception dimension (M=5.5; SD=1.0). Also, they present on average a high EI value. Furthermore, they have a high mean value regarding self-efficacy (M=35.5; SD= 3.3). It is recommended to conduct more research on EI and self-efficacy in the work context at a national and international level.
