(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-03) Riofrio Bonete, Sergio Francisco; Zhinin Novillo, Andrés Fernando; Guillén Verdesoto, Ximena Karina
The family is considered as a space where each member is formed, learns and develops with the purpose of maximizing the achievements they can make in the future, respecting or not the autonomy of its members, therefore, the research has the purpose of knowing the family influence for the choice of career in the students of the careers of Family Counseling and Gender and Development. A cross-sectional quantitative methodology was used, with a descriptive analytical scope. The sample consisted of 197 students, representing 60% of the population, with a stratified sampling. The information was obtained through two instruments: FF SIL and structured survey, which have likert measurement scale. The results obtained showed that the family typology does not influence the decisions of the students surveyed for the choice of careers, likewise their liking for them increases as they progress academically. Therefore, it can be highlighted that most of the participants have autonomy at the time of making their decisions, with families that act as a protective factor that promotes the satisfaction and fulfillment of expectations of its members.
