Sellado inmediato de dentina: una revisión de la literatura

During restorative dentistry procedures, exposure of the dentinal tubules is inevitable, which can cause bacterial microleakage during the provisionalization stage; For this reason, the concept of immediate dentin sealing was introduced, which in addition to creating a hybrid layer in the newly carved dentinal tissue, reduces postoperative sensitivity and increases the bond strength with the definitive restoration. Objective: The purpose of this bibliographic review is to analyze the specialized literature on SID to obtain a manuscript that explains concepts, protocols and interactions. Materials and methods: A search and selection of articles related to SID was carried out in a period of time from 2010 to 2022 using specialized databases. Results: After the search was carried out, 19 articles were selected that presented SID as the focus of the study; any type of study that did not conflict with the inclusion and exclusion criteria was taken into account. This includes in vitro studies, clinical trials, literature reviews, and systematic reviews. Conclusions: It was determined that SID can provide advantages during the cementation of restorations since 13 of the 19 articles (68.42%) demonstrated evidence that recommends the use of SID over the usual protocol, however, more studies are needed in living subjects.
