Older adults in the aging stage are prone to biological, physical and social changes which affect their quality of life. This research aimed to describe the sociodemographic and family profile of older adults in the rural communities of Girón parish, in 2023; a quantitative approach was used to respond to the general and specific objectives; The research had a descriptive scope, a type of non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The study population was 150 adults over 65 years of age and older belonging to the rural communities of Girón parish. To meet the established objectives, instruments such as the socioeconomic record, carried out by other authors, and the Smilkstein family APGAR test in 1978 were used. The most relevant results, produced through the baseline. They were that in rural areas it was where most of the elderly population lived. It was detected that the state of health was bad, due to several diseases present in the aging stage. On the other hand, in the economic field, older adults do not have their own income because they are without doing any work, either due to aging or health. In the same way, through the APGAR test, regarding the family environment, the respondents live in a functional family environment, since the family provides an environment of respect, support, security, protection and care
