(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-08-22) Quizhpi Serrano, Johnny Patricio; Tacuri Peláez, Elsa Leonor
The present investigation focused on the implementation of a program of ludic-sports physical activities in the Physical Education subject in students of the 10th year of upper basic education of the Alfonso María Borrero Elementary School. This study arises from the post- pandemic context since at the moment there are few studies that reveal the level of physical condition and emotional well-being in students after two years of education in the virtual modality that implied several limitations for the development of this subject. and other triggering factors causing low physical condition and emotional imbalance. The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of a recreational-sports physical activity program to improve basic physical abilities and Emotional Intelligence. The methodology had a quasi- experimental, cross-sectional design, with a quantitative approach, created to use a recreational sports physical activity program applied for 12 weeks to students between the ages of 13 and 17 deliberately selected. The implementation was assessed through validated tests such as the Course-Navette test for resistance, the 10x5 test for speed and the 30- second abdominal test for strength, the Emotional Intelligence in Physical Education questionnaire was also applied with a pretest. and post test, positive results were achieved such as the improvement of basic physical abilities, especially in strength and emotional intelligence in emotional control and regulation and in emotional empathy where now students have a better perception of Physical Education.
