Item Perspectivas de los estudiantes de la carrera de Educación Básica respecto al enfoque de género en su proceso formativo(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-01) Herrera Calle, Jonathan Andres; Quito Jimbo, Gabriel Omar; Castillo Núñez, Jessica ErciliaGender approach is fundamental in teacher training due to its implications in educational practice. The objective of this study was to analyze and understand the perceptions of Basic Education teacher ́s students regarding the gender approach in their training process. The methodology was based on a qualitative approach. The information was collected through 16 semi-structured interviews. Findings revealed that participants have an understanding of the gender approach. On the other hand, there is also evidence of: lack of inclusion of the gender perspective from the initial training levels, teaching practices reinforce inequalities, lack of specific training and limited freedom to make decisions on the subject due to the parameters established by educational institutions. The results highlight the importance of promoting the inclusion of gender approach in the academic teacher training curriculum and providing students greater support to implement this approach in their future teaching practices.
