Item Niveles de depresión en adolescentes varones de Educación General Básica y Bachillerato de la Unidad Educativa Gabriel Arsenio Ullauri de la parroquia rural Llacao del cantón Cuenca, periodo 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-02-22) Chacho Chacho, Elena Patricia; Quito Campos, Sandra Johanna; Aguilar Sizer, Mónica ElisaDepression is an emotional disorder to which adolescents are more vulnerable due to the physical, emotional and cognitive changes they experience at this stage of their lives, despite the fact that educational institutions are part of their support networks, in rural Ecuador. Most educational establishments do not have a Student Counseling Department since they do not meet a number greater than 450 students as established by the Ministry of Education of Ecuador, which is why they are excluded from this right. The objective of this work was to describe the levels of depression in male adolescents of Basic General Education and Baccalaureate of the Gabriel Arsenio Ullauri Educational Unit of the rural parish of Llacao. The population with which the study was carried out was 69 male adolescents, the reason for selecting the sex of the participants is that males frequently experience their emotions by reacting angry, irritable or aggressive and these symptoms are often confused with normative behaviors of the development. The method that was used had a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, with a descriptive scope. The instruments that were applied were the Beck depression inventory and the sociodemographic file. The data analysis was carried out using the IBM SPSS Statistical 25 software. The results indicated that 68.12% (N=47) did not present depression and 31.88% (N=22) presented some level. The most intense symptom was crying, while difficulty concentrating and changes in sleep habits are the most prevalent. It was concluded that no relevant data on levels of depression were found.
