    El desacondicionamiento físico en los adultos mayores de los centros gerontológicos de la ciudad, según las escalas Katz y Tinetti, Cuenca 2009

    We accomplished a descriptive study to determine the frequency of the physical deconditioning according to Katz's scales and Tinetti, in a sample of 491 bigger adults given shelter to in the several centers gerontology of Cuenca's city in the period October 2009 – April 2010. The physical deconditioning is more frequent in the bigger adults of 85 years. The 55.9% they were women and the 44.1% of the sample males. The single elderly people occupied the 43.4 %. The 30.4% the widowed elderly people and the 26.2% married couples. Plenitude (29.0%), Cristo the King (25.8%) and St. Anne (15.1%) were the main centers geriatric. In the 71.0% the relative time of immobilization had bigger frequency. Pathologies but you frequent were: Musculoskeletal (46.5%), neurological (25.8%), neuromuscular (11.4%) and metabolic (7.6%). It was found within Tinetti's scales that the bigger adult with some risk of falling is more frequent (67.7%), that if he had some risk (31.5%). In Katz's scale the bigger Independent adult in nutrition, continence, mobility, use of the toilet, getting dressed and taking a bath went from the 20.5%. The 19.0% had an independent for all previous the shows accept one. In the meantime than the adult bigger the independents in the six shows had an 18.1%.
