Regeneración de la Plaza Atahualpa del Cantón Cañar
(2019-03-29) Quindi Pichisaca, Jeanneth Cristina; Rodríguez Tenezaca, Cecilia del Carmen
The present work is generated with the purpose of contributing with a proposal for the intervention of Atahualpa Plaza, which is currently in poor physical condition due to the absence of an intervention. The plaza, since earlier times, was used for commercial use, especially for the commercialization of grains, which is why it is also known as Grain Plaza. It presents a greater use on Sundays, where merchants use the plaza in a disorderly manner for the sale of different products. The plaza on ordinary days does not invite users to remain in it; It is used mainly for the circulation of the different equipment nearby. Cañar is the Archaeological and Cultural Capital of Ecuador, named for its archaeological wealth, also has great cultural diversity so the project must adapt to the place and generate a public space that promotes social, cultural, recreational and commercial development, prioritizing the traditional uses. For this process, a first chapter is carried out where the theory and concepts referring to public spaces and squares are studied with emphasis; the next chapter covers the case studies, which will serve as a reference to define different strategies of action; the third chapter includes the diagnosis of the area of influence as well as the specific area of study with the purpose of knowing the current situation of the area of influence and of the Atahualpa plaza and the fourth chapter contains the proposal of the preliminary project where the analisis made in the previous chapters are reflected.
