    Conductas sexuales de riesgo y uso de métodos anticonceptivos en estudiantes de Enfermería. Cuenca 2016

    Introduction: A risky sexual behavior is referred to exposing a person to situations that may cause damage to your health or someone else increasing the chances of an unwanted pregnancy, abortion and STIs. To avoid these problems there are safe and effective contraceptive methods; each person chooses the one that best suits your needs and convictions. Methodology: An analytical and observational cross design on 179 students of the School of Nursing at the University of Cuenca was performed. Data collection was performed on an elaborated poll which included questions on sexual behavior and contraceptive use. The data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages and bar charts. The bi-variate descriptive analysis was done using contingency tables. To determine the association of data analyzed by the Chi2; to establish the magnitude of the association was handled the Odds Ratio with a confidence interval of 95% and were considered results statistically significant to values of p <0.05. Results: The results show that of total participants the 66.5% have started their sexual activity, which the most common age of start this between 16-20 years (49.7%). The 47.9% said they had had sex under the influence of drugs being the most common alcohol 24.6%. Regarding sexual partners 94.1% had 1-5 sexual partners. With regard to contraception 84.0% who had had sex used some form of contraception being the condoms the most used with 67.4% while the remaining 16% do not use contraceptive methods during sex and 5% did not for opposition from their partner. Of the total sample studied only 13.4% have ever had in your life an STI. Conclusions: The high rate of participants who expressed having had sex under the influence of drugs and multiple sexual partners show that there is sexual risk behavior
