(2015-11-11) Guarango Suquilanda, Fanny Catalina; Pulla Nivicela, Clara Maricela; Ortega Chica, Paula Soledad; Lucio Bravo, Miriam Alexandra
The present study is quasi-experimental without group control. The objective was to determine the influence of the Mozart effect in 105 children from Alfonso Carrion and Enriqueta Cordero elementary schools from Baños parish, canton Cuenca using music as a principal method (Mozart’s sonata for two pianos in re major k448), using recreational activities and psychomotor techniques as a support, and applying the Boehm´s test before and after the intervention. With the results obtained from the first evaluation the concepts to intervene were those who had less than 40 % of successes .Then proceeded with the intervention to the children using the method before mentioned. The sonata was used: 8 minutes in each classroom, once a week, during 3 months. After the intervention it can be seen that the children differentiate in a better way the concepts from all the categories established in the test. The categories: space, quantity, others improved significantly; however, in the category time there was a marked increase, being as with the intervention it increased from 19% to 82,9%. Finally, to obtain statistical significance from the concepts contained in each category presented in the test was applied the Mc Nemar´s nonparametrical statistic test (< 0, 05); because of, this test allows comparing proportions between related samples.
