Introduction: Mental disorders increase the likelihood of experiencing additional health conditions and contribute to both intentional and unintentional injuries, making them a public health concern. Objective: To describe the factors associated with the mental health of nursing professionals at Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital in Azogues, 2023.Methodology: A quantitative study with a descriptive analytical cross-sectional design was conducted, involving a sample of 150 nursing professionals from Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital. Participants were interviewed directly about sociodemographic data, using a questionnaire developed by the authors, and were assessed using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Hamilton Anxiety and Depression Scale. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 25 through descriptive and inferential statistics, considering p-values <0.05 as statistically significant. Results: Among the study participants, 82.7% had low self-esteem, 49.3% experienced mild anxiety, and 70% reported severe depression. No statistically significant association was identified between self-esteem or depression and sociodemographic variables. However, a statistically significant association was found between the degree of anxiety and the sociodemographic variable of work area (p=0.016). Conclusion: In nursing professionals, no association was found regarding self-esteem and depression in relation to sociodemographic variables. As for anxiety, a mild degree was associated with the work area.
