    Factores de riesgo asociados a desnutrición en niños menores de cinco años, que acuden con sus madres al Centro de Salud N° 1. Cuenca, 2012

    Objective: This research aims to determine the risk factors associated with malnutrition in children under five, who come with their mothers to the Health Center No. 1 Pumapungo Canton Cuenca.- Method and Materials: A descriptive research, which allowed us to identify the risk factors associated with malnutrition in children under five who came with their mothers to the health center No. 1. We worked with a representative sample of 94 children under five who came with their mothers at Health Center No. 1 in the months of February to May. As a technique was used to interview mothers and addressed as a form instrument consisted of two parts: the first part was recorded personal data of the mother as age, marital status, education, occupation, income and housing in the second part of children: age, sex, origin, weight, height, degree of malnutrition, immunization, food type, stimulus for food and hygienic characteristics, general data for nutritional classification, development of nutritional status, breastfeeding adequate education about weaning, other food, serving food, feeding stimulus, food support, data are presented in tables, which are used Excel and SPSS programs.- Results: 67% of children do not have any type of malnutrition, malnourished 7.4% grade I, two grade II malnourished children, with a percentage of 1.1%, according to Gomez classification.AU
