    The present work is a scientific academic type. It is meant to be a Methological Guide for the Risk Management based on ISO 31000:2011, for purchase processes of a private sector SME in the city of Cuenca, the same that will help organizations to manage their risks effectively. To determine the current situation of the SME under study, with respect to risk management in the purchasing process, the survey method is used to obtain information from primary sources. To determine the context as indicated by ISO 31000:2011, to define the internal and external parameters should be taken into account for the proper risk management, its scope, and the risk criteria for the establishment of risk policies. It will obtain a matrix of risks of a different level, in which an additional framework will be established to see which process belongs to and preventive actions must be taken to minimize its impact and have identified who to turn if it materialized. This allows us to present a proposal for the maintenance and continuous improvement of Risk Management in the process of purchasing in the company. The recommendations of best practices of this Standard were developed to improve management practices and ensure safety in the workplace at all times. The implementation and application of this methological guide, you will be able to improve its operational efficiency, its governance and the trust of the interested external and internal parties.
