    Prevalencia y factores influyentes del síndrome de burnout en los docentes de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Cuenca, enero - julio 2013

    Objective: determine the prevalence of burnout syndrome, Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Cuenca, and possible factors related thereon. Material and methods: type of quantitative research from 149 teachers of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Was used anonymous survey about sociodemographic and labor characteristics; was applied the test Maslach Burnout Inventory, questionnaire of 22 questions; the presence of the síndrome was determinated by low subscale Personal Realitation. Results: the prevalence of Burnout syndrome was 64,9 %; the highest frequency of the three subscales was present in the level low 75% for emotional exhaustion, 71,6% for depersonalization y 64,9% for personal realitation that determined síndrome. a higher prevalence was found in males with 69,2% as opposed to female presented Syndrome 60 %; also the highest prevalence was found in teachers who are not married, 61,6% versus 75%. Found that in a relatively short time period labor (6 to 10 years) presented Burnout level of 82.4% and teachers who view their work environment as comfortable and performing only day shifts, showed the highest prevalence of the síndrome, 68,3% and 65,6% respectively.
