The present research work, entitled "Semiotic analysis and musical interpretation of the work for solo trumpet with piano accompaniment Ecuatorianías by composer David Díaz Loyola”, expresses a perspective of qualitative musical analysis based on a semiotic approach, taking the trumpet as the main instrument. Along the same line, the proposals given by Jean Molino and Jean Jacques Nattiez and their ideas about the "symbol" and how it interacts at different levels of communication are addressed. By treating music as a symbol, it is possible to reveal that its levels of communication cover many more aspects than conventional media, where music is considered a metalanguage. By taking the work Ecuatorianías and its musical technical resources as an element of analysis, it is possible to obtain a retrospective of the composer, his influences, and the social impact on those who listen to him.
