    Elecaustro SA in an effort to improve the process of power generation, has built Fase Vde la Central Saymirín, in order to optimize the use of water to the area and has achieved an increase in total generation. Therefore, in the present work is a theoretical background on the type of existing hydroelectric plants, and in which Saymirín ranks, besides the type of maintenance required for this new Central to provide services optimally with minimal disruption operation. Immediately is the description of all civil infrastructure including part and electromechanical equipment that comprise the Central, to familiarize ourselves with the whole plant. This is followed by the development of a guide on operation sequences that must be taken into account when operating the two generating units, both in normal operation and in a state of emergency. It also has a set of maintenance actions proposed for each of the elements, these are based on the suggestion of manufacturers, builders and the same staff for operation and maintenance available to the company, being a valuable source of information because the experience they have.
