Item La mendicidad y su influencia en la dinámica familiar en las familias usuarias de la Fundación Ciudadanos en Acción, en el periodo enero – noviembre 2022(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-03) Pastuizaca Parapi, Carlos Alexis; Bueno Loja, Blanca YolandaThe research was conducted at the “Citizens in Action Foundation”, an institution that aims to contribute to the progressive eradication of begging, which is defined as the act of asking for money, food or any type of material or economic good with which the person can subsist and meet both his personal needs and those of his family. The objective of the study was to analyze begging and its influence on the family dynamics of the families that are beneficiaries of the foundation. For this purpose, a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental methodology was used, where a battery of tests and a structured survey were applied to obtain the results. The results obtained were that most of the users participating in the study are women who are engaged in the activity of begging together with their children. In the first instance, it was observed that the relationships within the conjugal system are deficient and distant, the connection between the father and the children is scarce and there is a lack of communication; the families were mainly in the category of risk and dysfunctional, according to the scale of each test. Finally, it was found that the effects of begging in the current family context are multiple, ranging from discrimination, low self-esteem, low wages and exposure to diseases, therefore, it was concluded that begging influences family dynamics in a notorious way, alters its organization, generates instability and affects the ties that are maintained within each subsystem.
