    Calidad de atención de enfermería a pacientes sometidas a cesárea del área de gíneco-obstetricia del Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo. Azogues, 2014

    Background: Health Services evaluation is a priority; therefore, as nursing students we investigated the quality of nursing care in patients undergoing cesarean section, at Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital in Azogues. Objective: To determine the quality of nursing care for patients undergoing cesarean section in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital. 2014. Methodology: The study was quantitative, retrospective and descriptive during May, June and July, 2014. We had a universe of 158 patients. For data collection, a CARE-Q survey was used, prior to which an informed consent was obtained. The information is then processed using SPSS 21 software and Microsoft Office. Results: Among the most important results are: 83.5% of users qualified nursing care to a high standard, with minimal data that qualifies as poor attention. Components: Accessibility: where the 81.6% rate as high and 0.6% as low; Explains and Facilitates: the 66.5% rate the service at a high level, 1.9% at low level; Comfort: 77.2% indicates a high level, and 0.6% repeats as low; Trust: 57.0% as high and 1.3% as low. Conclusions: The quality of nursing care in patients undergoing cesarean section at Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital is high; however it is advisable to improve in some aspects to achieve optimal client satisfaction

    Calidad de vida de los familiares que cuidan a niños/as menores de 5 años con discapacidad en el Centro de Rehabilitación Integral Especializado, cuenca, 2015

    Antecedents.- to recognize the effort and the family caretakers’ who work with children with disabilities, is to speak of constant learning that one gives, not alone in the rehabilitation centers but in their homes. In relation to Martha Osorio in her study of the quality of life, it should be considered that taking care of children with disabilities implies more time of care and attention. The quality of the family caretakers' life and of the assisted children can present demographic, economic, psychological partner and balance changes with good inclinations or of deterioration of the physical or psychological area that determines the attention that you/they receive or they provide, for it finds high-priority to carry out this investigation. (1) Objective.- he/she thought about: To determine the quality of the relatives' life that you/they take care of children smaller than 5 years with disabilities in the "Specialized Center of Integral Rehabilitation" Cuenca, 2015 Methodology. - The investigation is quantitative, of descriptive type of traverse court. He/she had a sample of 99 family caretakers, according to the applied formula. To gather the information a questionnaire of structured interview, the tabulation of the data that was used he/she was carried out in Excel 2010 and SPSS 15, the results are presented in their respective charts with frequencies and percentages. Usage of results. - The obtained results will be able to serve as a base to carry out future investigations, a problem with minimal study, this information will also be socialized to the authorities of the Center of Rehabilitation, so that they take the measures that are considered necessary.

    Causas y consecuencias de la violencia intrafamiliar en niños de segundo a séptimo año de básica, Unidad Educativa Comunitaria Rumiñahui. Quilloac 2014

    Researches reveal several stories of abuse committed with children, since ancient times. In Latin America and the Caribbean, at least 6 million of girls and adolescents are under aggretiones, and 80,000 die annually from the violence within the family. The objective set was: to determine the causes and consequences of domestic violence on children from second to seventh year of Rumiñahui Community Education Unit. The research was quantitative and descriptive: the sample were 92 children. A family fest was applied created by bachellor . Lois Corman, an instrument that allowed us to determine the presence or absence of domestic violence; and the form was validated validated by the National Institute for Women in Mexico 2006, to identify causes and consequences of abuse. The collection of data was done in May and June 2014 and tabulation was conducted in Excel - SPSS 15.0. The results indicate: the 100% of the study population suffer some form of abuse; the most common forms are: caretakers who stop talking for several hours, 27%; of caregivers; strong pull hair: 24%, neglect of personal hygiene of children, 18.5% and 6.5% children are handled, touched or fondled their private parts without permission, abuse is directly linked to a numerous members of family.

    Determinar el nivel de estrés en las estudiantes de enfermería durante el internado rotativo integral. Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. 2015

    Objective: - To determine the stress level of nursing students during their residency at the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital during 2015. Methods and Materials: - The study was quantitative and used a descriptive method. The sample consisted of 105 nursing interns from the University of Cuenca. Who did their hospital rotations at the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. The collection of the information was in a direct way through the application of Maslach Burnout Inventory Scale (MBI). The information was processed through SPSS 15.0 and Excel, the result were presented in tables of frequency and percentages. Results:- from the total of the samples according to the levels of stress way relation to the parameters of value scale, the following result were found: in emotional fatigue 47.5% presented a moderate level of stress and 41,9% presented a high level of stress. From the total of interns, 54,3% suffered from high stress level and 25,7% suffered moderate levels of stress. In terms of personal development it has been observed that 74,3% of the total interns had high levels of stress, where has 9,5% had low levels of stress. Conclusions: though these study significant differences among the stress value scale were found among the nursing interns as a result it is suggested to take preventative measures to decrease stress levels during the hospital rotations.     Evaluación del protocolo de atención prehospitalaria para emergencias médicas en politraumatismos atendidos en el Cuerpo de Bomberos y Sistema ECU 911, Azogues 2015

    BACKGROUND: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the multiple injuries cause more than 5 million deaths per year; over 90% of them occur in developing countries. Polytrauma deepen poverty and pose a significant investment for the state; the average cost of care is $ 30 per day, but if the patient requires intensive care will cost from 115 to $ 1,500 daily. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the Protocol Prehospital emergency medical care in multiple injuries attended by the Fire Department and 911 ECU system, Azogues 2015. METHODOLOGY: This research is quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional. For data collection surveys and observation sheet, based on the protocol, instruments were developed and validated for the study were used. The universe was the prehospital care of the Fire Department and Hospital System 911 ECU Homer Castanier, to oppose a survey information for service staff Homero Emergency Hospital Castanier Crespo was developed. Tabulation and data processing was performed using Excel and SPSS, the results were presented in frequency tables. USE OF RESULTS: The results were used to determine the application of the Protocol prehospital care in multiple injuries and help the competent authorities to devise strategies to improve care in this area.     Factores de riesgo para gastritis crónica en pacientes de 30 a 45 años que acuden al Centro de Salud de Cumbe noviembre 2022 – marzo 2023

    Chronic gastritis is a prevalent disease caused by factors such as Helicobacter pylori infection, inadequate diet, excessive alcohol and tobacco consumption, and stress. These factors compromise the gastric mucosa, affecting patients' quality of life. This study aims to determine the risk factors associated with chronic gastritis in patients aged 30 to 45 who attended the Cumbe Health Center between November 2022 and March 2023. A quantitative approach was used, collecting data through surveys and clinical record analysis to identify factors such as H. pylori infection, the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), alcohol and tobacco consumption, and family history. Among the results, 55.8% of participants were male, and 65.6% were married. Of the participants, 46.7% had primary education and 39.6% had secondary education. A total of 81.5% were diagnosed with chronic gastritis, and 43.2% had H. pylori infection. High tobacco (61.7%) and alcohol (38.6%) consumption were also observed. The results highlight the need for educational interventions focused on preventing and managing risk factors for chronic gastritis.

    Frecuencia de infección del tracto genitourinario en gestantes del Hospital “José Carrasco Arteaga”, Cuenca 2018

    Introduction: infections of the genitourinary tract in pregnancy are currently considered a Public Health problem due to its high impact on maternal and neonatal mortality and morbility; despite the existence of strategies to reduce their frequency, it has not been possible to reduce them. Objective: To determine the frequency of genitourinary tract infection in pregnant women at Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga Cuenca, 2018. Methodology: The present quantitative descriptive study was carried out in the Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, with a random sample of 105 pregnant women of the gynecology service, who according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria after informed consent, applied a structured survey in addition to the review of the respective clinical histories, the information was processed and analyzed in the statistical package SPSS v. 15, presenting the results in frequency and percentage tables. Results: the sample was characterized by pregnant women with a average age of 29.8 years, secondary education (43.8%), residents in the urban sector (63.8%), a history of urinary infections in the current pregnancy (64.8%). 77.1% multigesta; in turn, 56.2% presented bacteriuria of 2 crosses, 61% leukocyturia, and 65.7% positive nitrites. The prevalence of acute cystitis was 9.5%, of asymptomatic bacteriuria of 28.6% and of pyelonephritis of 61.9%. Conclusion: the frequency of pyelonephritis and asymptomatic bacteriuria maintain the regional frequency, while the frequency of acute cystitis remained below the general average in hospitalized pregnant women

    Planes de cuidados de enfermería aplicando el lenguaje NANDA, NOC, NIC en pacientes con fibrosis quística. Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. 2015

    OBJETIVE.- Develop nursing care plans using language NANDA , NOC , NIC in patients with cystic fibrosis. Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. 2015 METHODOLOGY.- This research is quantitative - descriptive and prospective . We worked with a sample of 24 CF patients regularly attending the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. For data collection it was developed and based on the Nursing Care Process validated instrument, including the 13 domains of the NANDA (North American Nursing Diagnosis Association). Data were processed in SPSS 15.0 and Microsoft Excel program for the diagnosis PLACE format was used. RESULTS.- We worked with 24 patients with cystic fibrosis , the most relevant demographic results are: in relation to gender, 62,5 % are male , according to age, was predominant : 6-11 years with a percentage 33,33 % ; and according to area of residence: 62,5 % it is rural. Among the major potential of the group and are real problems: Digestive problems: low weight with 70,83 %, appetite decreased 54,2 %, and steatorrhea with 54,16 %. Breathing problems, including: the 54,16 % tachypnea , coughing up of different characteristic: 75%, unusual noise : wheezing, real, crackles with 79,2%, abnormal chest pain and expandability with 58,3%. CONCLUSIONS.- Among the most common problems of the study group they are respiratory and digestive so must the nurse applied the care process and develop plans to enable better management of patients.     Prediabetes y factores asociados en el personal de enfermería del Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo. Azogues, 2016

    Background: prediabetes, a clinical condition of increasingly high frequency, is a predictor of diabetes and subsequent future cardiovascular and microvascular complications, the limited knowledge at the local and national level has prompted the development of the present study. Objective: to determine the prevalence of pre-diabetes and associated factors in the nursing staff at Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital in 2016. Method and Materials: Cross-sectional study, with a study population made up of the nursing staff of the hospital area; the analysis of quantitative variables was performed with a confidence interval of 95% and tests were used to test hypotheses: the Chi-square test, for the analysis of association the RP prevalence ratio, the confidence intervals and the p value were used, considering p < 0.05 as statistically significant differences. Results: 29.9% correspond to the adult age group, with a predominance of the female gender 93.5%; a prevalence of pre-diabetes of 13%, where 45.7% (IC95% 0.3 - 2.3; p=0.05) are overweight, in addition to an abdominal circumference that shows a high risk of 47.6% (IC95% 0.61 - 4.2; p=0.97). Inadequate eating behavior prevails (85.7%) (IC95% 0.2 - 4; p=0), a high level of sedentarism (60%) (IC95% 0.9 - 16.9; p=4.4) and high work stress (3.8%) (IC95% 0.4 - 3.54; p=0.12).

    Saberes andinos en respuesta a la pandemia COVID - 19 y sus secuelas en el cantón El Tambo, provincia de Cañar, 2023 - 2024

    The COVID-19 pandemic accentuated vulnerability in priority groups, and exacerbated it in peasant and indigenous communities. These populations faced this health challenge by resorting to ancestral knowledge, such as ancestral medicine, which uses medicinal plants and animal substances as treatment alternatives; common practices rooted in their cultural traditions. The objective of this research was: to describe Andean knowledge in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences in the El Tambo Canton, Cañar Province, it was developed as part of a research project with a qualitative interpretive approach and descriptive scope. ; whose data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews, focused on three main categories: Perceptions, knowledge and practices; addressed to key members of the community: Yachak, water carrier, community member and leader. The results obtained describe the reality of the community, in addition to contrasting with realities in Latin America and nearby countries; visualize specific elements about the study population; examine the use of ancestral knowledge during the pandemic; their perceptions, knowledge and practices, used as treatment and preventive measures during this critical global stage. Among the techniques described are: temazcal, baths with plants, vaporization, steaming the house with cypress, verbena and eucalyptus, the use of plants: masterful and bitter, prepared in various ways and in combination with citrus fruits, alcoholic beverages, and others such as bee honey and donkey fat. All this accumulation of knowledge allowed us to improve health conditions and contributed to reaffirming the use of ancestral medicine.

    Saberes andinos en respuesta a la pandemia COVID-19 y sus secuelas en la comunidad de Ilincho, Cantón Saraguro, Provincia de Loja, 2023 - 2024

    The global COVID-19 crisis has exacerbated the vulnerability of certain groups, including Andean indigenous communities. These communities have had to face health challenges using the knowledge available in their environment, such as the use of medicinal plants, which are an integral part of their culture and ancestral wisdom. This research aimed to: Describe this Andean knowledge that has been applied in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences in the community of Ilincho, cantón Saraguro, province of Loja, using an interpretive approach and a qualitative design, as a method. To obtain data, in-depth interviews were carried out with community social actors from the study population. Regarding data collection, it was carried out through semi-structured interviews that covered three categories: perceptions, knowledge and practices, which were directed to the practitioners of ancestral medicine from said community. The information collected allowed us to better understand the reality of the population and give us a clearer approach to the use of ancestral knowledge during the pandemic; their perceptions, knowledge and practices used as preventive measures and as treatment for COVID-19 and its consequences. The techniques described in the study are: vaporization, kambo, the use of warm and bitter plants, prepared in infusions, juices and in combination with citrus fruits, baking soda, alcoholic beverages. All this knowledge allowed us to improve health conditions and enhance the use of ancestral medicine as an alternative method in terms of prevention, treatment and post-COVID-19 sequelae.
