    Malestar emocional en estudiantes del décimo año de la Escuela de Educación Básica Federico Proaño de la ciudad de Cuenca-Ecuador en el período lectivo marzo-julio del 2022

    Emotional discomfort in the educational field causes an alteration in emotions in the stage of evolutionary development in students, which increases as it advances in the different educational levels, this directly affects the teaching-learning process, it can occur from childhood to adulthood and cause important changes in all cognitive areas. The general objective of this research is to show the influence of emotional distress in students of the tenth year of the Federico Proaño basic general education school in the period 2022, it is also intended to characterize the level of emotional distress according to the dimensions of the mood assessment scale and determine the level of emotional discomfort. The approach is quantitative, cross-sectional descriptive design. The population consisted of 137 students of basic education. Jesús Sanz's EVEA mood rating scale was used and information was collected on the presence of emotional distress, in addition to a sociodemographic record containing variables related to the presence of emotional distress. The results showed that the domain of emotional discomfort in students was anger and hostility present in 83.7%, followed by sadness and depression in 69.6% and finally anxiety, present in 58.7%. It is concluded that emotional distress was present at a low level according to the presence of its variables in the population studied.
