Objective. Determine the frequency and distribution of premalignant lesions and identify factors associated in women with positive pap served at the hospital in the Cancer Institute SOLCA, Cuenca. Material and methods. Through a cross-sectional study, it agreed to 345 records of equal number of patients served during the year 2014 and has collected information on: age, instruction, residence, home of sexual life, number of sexual partners, parity, cytology based on the Bethesta system and the presence of HPV. The distribution of frequencies of the variables of study were analyzed and sought partnership between the factors and types of premalignant cytology. Results. The average age was 44.3 ± 12.4 years (16 to 80 years). 54% of the population was between 35 and 54 years. 53% of patients studied instruction up to 6 years. The residence distribution was similar. 46% of the population started sexual life before the age of 17. 58% had one sexual partner and 40% two or more. 64% of patients were multiparous women. Cytology types were: ASCUS (53%), LIE low grade (28%), LIE of high degree (12%) and CGA (5%). The presence of HPV and the multiparity were associated to the LIE of high-grade, LIE of low grade and ASC (P < 0.05). Conclusion. Most of the results were similar to those listed by the literature, others such as the types of cytology and HPV serotypes distribution presents certain particularities that are still in research.
