(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-01) Palomeque Romero, Antonella Nicole; Bueno Loja, Blanca Yolanda
Aging is a process accompanied by biological, psychological, family, social, material, and emotional changes. Therefore, the elderly person becomes someone who requires help to carry out daily activities, thus, the accompaniment of the family and social environment is essential for satisfying needs, leading to a timely quality of life and active aging. However, the quality of life is faced with the loss of health, work, emotional, material, and affective accompaniment of the socio-family environment, therefore, older adults face problems of loneliness. In this way, the State given the concern of vulnerability and marginalization, creates projects and programs for the social inclusion of the elderly person. For this reason, the present work had the objective of analyzing the perception of the elderly people of the Santo of Asis Day Center in Azogues, about the quality of life in aging, period 2022. The results show that, during this stage, elderly people experience changes in health, work, family, and social environment, which are important for the satisfaction of needs, since, in the absence of the socio-family environment, loneliness occurs in an alarming way.
