Item Análisis del inventario del ciclo de vida del ladrillo utilizado en la ciudad de Cuenca: aspectos energéticos, medio ambientales, sociales, económicos y culturales(2017) Alvear Córdova, Paúl Jacinto; Palomeque Maldonado, Rene Patricio; Guillén Mena,Vanessa FernandaClimate change is one of the phenomena that threaten the well-being of society by increasing greenhouse gas emissions. The industrial sector is one of the main contributors due to the large amount of carbon emissions and energy used in the production of materials. This thesis analyzes the Tochano brick in Sinincay, in relation to the different dimensions of sustainability (social, cultural, economic, environmental). The use of the LCI “Life Cycle Inventory” tool is proposed for the calculation of emissions of C02 and the energy incorporated in the process of manufacturing of brick in the door-to-door phase. The first chapter presents the state of art, problems, hypotheses, objectives and study methodology. The second chapter looks at the construction sector and the brick at a global and local level. We present case studies of brick LCA and the theoretical bases for its realization. The third chapter studies the dimensions of sustainability in Sinincay and applies the LCI methodology. In the fourth chapter, comparisons are made with case studies, a summary and recommendations for the dimensions of brick sustainability.Item Le Corbusier - el sistema constructivo como elemento formal en la arquitectura moderna(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-04-22) Palomeque Maldonado, Rene Patricio; Serrano Tapia, Alex DanielThe present work starts from the historical antecedents and the analysis of the two structural systems most used in the modern movement, concrete and steel, approached by the same architect, in this case, Le Corbusier, one of the greatest exponents of this movement, which refers to case studies of two pavilions. A comparative analytical process of the architectural components is carried out from two different construction systems and contexts, based on the five principles of modern architecture raised by the same architect, resulting in a formal expression defined within modern architecture. The objective is to analyze the construction system as a formal element used by the architect in these two different systems. Le Corbusier used reinforced concrete as a formal language almost in all of his work, and steel only in the last stage, within the modern period. It is important to highlight the contribution provided by the selected case studies to understand the formal results provided by each one. Through the reconstruction and comparative analysis of the case studies, the substantial characteristics of each of the two construction systems are identified, which allow generating results, main findings and intrinsic formal values in them, in order to support the generation of quality architecture and projects
