    La cubierta como cerramiento para vivienda de interés social en clima de alta montaña

    MIDUVI as a government agency that builds homes throughout the country, builds homes in adverse climatic sectors between, they have the region of the Cajas in Cuenca. The following work evaluated the construction materials with which MIDUVI builds the roofs for homes in the Cajas sector in Cuenca. The central objective of the project is the cover as enclosure for houses of social interest in high mountain climate in the sector of the Cajas. The problem of this work makes reference to that in the construction of the houses of social interest by MIDUVI when analyzing the site, this could be executed with a suitable constructive system with materials that work according to their location and mainly that their inner comfort and that is commensurate with the altitude and climate. The methodology applied was descriptive and referential, using the De Garrido method for the sustainability of the materials used to produce the covers and analyzing a case study through the Ecotect software. The conclusions were a level of sustainability for the three roofs studied fiber cement, tiles and polycarbonate with medium and high levels of sustainability. Accepting that the MIDUVI for the construction of housing roofs in high mountains, if they possess adequate materials that guarantee thermal comfort to its inhabitants and designing through Ecotect a suitable general comfort, if MIDUVI designed homes according to the real needs existing in the high mountains.
