    In the first half of March, discussions in many countries focused on the most effective forms of intervention to stop the spread of COVID-19, at the same time addressing the consequences of many measures in terms of economies, civil liberties, and the social impact that these measures will have. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a rapid and significant impact on mobility. One of the most important responses by countries around the world to stop the spread of the pandemic has been to develop policies for public transportation. The purpose of this research is to study these regulations and their measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 when using public transportation, focusing on four countries in South America (Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Argentina). The research results are presented in a compiled table that contains 6 criteria and 61 sub-criteria, which are verified that the countries under study have complied with these criteria; this is a guide for researchers and transportation planners. In conclusion, one of the four study; countries that have applied the most public transportation regulations is Ecuador, with 43 items of the 61 applicable regulations fulfilled
