    Narrativas transmedia y medios de comunicación: análisis de estrategias de comunicación en el especial periodístico Frontera Cautiva

    The present degree work aimed to verify the existence of a transmedia narrative in the journalistic special called Frontera Cautiva by analyzing the journalistic pieces published on the portal forbiddenstories.org The methodology applied was a bibliographic compilation that allowed the conceptualization of transmedia production in the journalistic field. This step allowed to establishing the codes: conditions, elements and tools, which served to develop a content analysis that validated the transmedia narrative present in the publications. Finally, interviews and dialogues with project’s authors were carried out, as well as with a relevant consumer that made it possible to highlight the human side and new challenges of this type of narrative in journalistic practice in Ecuador. The results establish that Frontera Cautiva comprises a transmedia narrative determined mainly by a macrohistory, the expansion of the story, a collaborative work and the appropriate use of different platforms and multimedia resources. The three chapters that comprise this article support these factors as determining factors in the construction of a transmedia narrative in investigative reports such as Frontera Cautiva
