In recent years, the use of technology has become indispensable within the educational context, thanks to the variety of hardware and software tools that have been developed. This is why it is imperative to work around the correct use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in teaching and learning processes. Therefore, this work addresses the evaluation of teacher’s competence levels in using ICT in the educational context. Specifically, this work proposes the analysis, design and implementation of a techno-pedagogical computer tool based on the ICT Competence Pentagon, which allows assessing five key competences in teachers: pedagogical, technological, communicative, management, and research competences. This tool categorizes teachers according to their level of knowledge and pedagogical skills in technology-mediated learning environments. The results are presented to teachers as strengths and areas for improvement to work on in the future. Furthermore, based on these results, the tool would recommend online training courses that fit the needs of each teacher regarding ICT in the educational context. The tool contributes to the continuous improvement of teaching performance in integrating ICT into the educational process, laying the groundwork for precise analysis and informed decision-making for professional growth. The developed tool is a work in progress that opens the door to future enhancements and adaptations in response to the dynamic nature of technology and education. It emphasizes the importance of measuring and enhancing teacher’s digital competences to effectively utilize technology as a powerful tool for learning and teaching.
