The concept of communication and its evolution are explored; In addition, journalism is presented as a process of capturing and processing information in different ways. The importance of the media in contemporary society and its role in informing, promoting debate and contributing to political, economic, social and cultural development are discussed. The study explores journalistic genres, with a particular focus on the news subgenre, and analyzes the evolution of its structure over time. The editorial is also examined as a genre of opinion and its role in expressing the point of view of an institution. These concepts are applied to the analysis of the #NosFaltan3 case, where the position adopted by the newspaper in its coverage of the case is studied. Different methods of analysis, such as Critical Discourse Analysis and Framing Analysis, are used to examine the approach and discourses used in the coverage. In this way, it seeks to evaluate the editorial position through the construction of its discourses and through parameters to evaluate the journalistic and ethical quality.Item Análisis del tratamiento informativo realizado por los diarios El Mercurio, El Comercio y El Universo a las noticias sobre los casos de femicidio de Cristina Suquilanda, Karina del Pozo y Edith Bermeo, "Sharon"(2016) Castro Parra, Nori Melissa; Orellana Crespo, Mónica Vanessa; Ortiz Vizuete, Fernando HerminioSocial media has great potential to influence into the issues that the population is talking about. Thus, the present study aims to determine how the media construct discourses about the women‟s violent deaths, whereas, if they do it from an educational and preventive perspective could contribute to the eradication of violence against women. On the other hand, they do in a sensationalized way, they help to reproduce stereotypes about the women‟s role that they should fulfill in society. The main objective of this research is to examine the journalistic treatment that made the newspapers El Mercurio, El Comercio and El Universo about the femicide of Cristina Suquilanda, Karina del Pozo and Edith Bermeo, respectively. To determine if the approach was sensationalist or included a gender perspective, the researchers used the methodology of Critical Discourse Analysis. It allowed to revealing the discursive constructions that people made about the women‟s violent deaths. In Girón there are popular musical groups that date back more than one hundred years of history, therefore, it is important to capture in some way the achievements, recognitions and experiences of those who still remain firm in these institutions. In this project there are interviews with iconic characters in the town gangs of Girón, as well as those who in a certain way have been linked to these activities over time. In the project it is also possible to view a series of files compiled both in video and in photographs that highlight the long journey that the Girón gangs hold. It is important to carry out projects that promote the culture of the peoples and that contribute to the rescue of traditional practices that over time have lost their value.Item Comunicación audio visual y creatividad como recurso para producir nuevas formas de periodismo cultural local: estudio de caso, la tradición artesanal en el cantón Cuenca(2016) Martínez Torres, María José; Ortiz Vizuete, Fernando HerminioIn Cuenca there has not been an investigative journalism and audiovisual production project that has investigated, collected and presented this information on these traditional occupations inherited over time and therefor they will continue to gradually decline until completely extinguished. This project, in a way, can be innovative as it involves two areas, audiovisual communication and journalistic writing. The intention of this final product is to teach how these professions were developed by different human actors, their contexts and processes with the intention of serving cultural research support at the local and national fields.Item Comunicación intercultural y prácticas culturales: estudio de las relaciones entre la comunidad cuencana y pakistaní(Universidad de Cuenca, 2021-12-06) Castillo García, Adriana Katherine; Cajas Bustos, Paola Tatiana; Ortiz Vizuete, Fernando HerminioThe present degree work was intended to study how social relations are built between two different cultures through an anthropological study. The methodological process applied techniques was a compilation of different ones that allowed the conceptualization of the term interculturality. This point will establish different variables that allow validate the adaptation processes that a foreigner goes through when establishing in a different place. Integrative observations were made that allowed us to know the philanthropy of the culture under study. Finally, interviews were carried out, and current conversations were held with the study subjects to gain a perspective on how to vary their way of integrating in the community of Cuenca with new challenges that the health emergency imposes. Said program deals with Political Communication contents and up to the date of carrying out this investigation it has two seasons on the air. Its second season was broadcast for Ecuador on Radio y Televisión Unidas (RTU) and on the web portal www.elbunkercp.com. It is worth mentioning that said web domain was absorbed by www.cumbre.online starting this year. The motivation to carry out a Content Analysis responds to the need to obtain knowledge of Political Communication and thus understand this branch of Communication from the perspective of Expert Professionals specialized in the different areas of COMPOL (Political Communication) who support their words through what made in the field work. It is important that these professionals do not neglect the theoretical and academic part of Communication, providing definitions of each topic presented. To achieve this objective was compiled and diffused opinions of managers, musician, public and people related to rock. Was applied the systematization of practice experiences and intervention as a study based in qualitative exploration that emits the results of observation, compilation of information, and audio-visual interwies trough the narrative documentary. All ideas about rock notion mentioned in this project give a better undestanding about this music gender and his diffused trough social media.
