Item Correlación de calcio score con tomografía multidetector 64 cortes y factores de riesgo. Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga. Marzo – agosto 2016(2017) Ortiz Sagba, Nelson Ramiro; Pineda Álvarez, Rosario Elizabeth; Morocho Malla, Manuel IsmaelBackground: The technological development in multidetector tomography scanners allows the assessment of the formation of calcium plaques in the coronary arteries, their categorization and their association with risk factors. Objective: To determine the calcium score correlation with arterial hypertension, overweight and obesity, dyslipidemia (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL), diabetes mellitus type 2 and smoking. José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital. Imaging Department, March – August 2016. Methods and materials: A Cross-sectional study with 67 patients who underwent calcium score test with multidetector tomography scanner. 64 cuts with heart rate synchronization 60 ±5 bpm between March – August 2016 were analyzed. An informed consent was requested to apply a survey to gather demographic information and determine risk factors. Patients´ weight and height were measured as well as blood tests. Data was analyzed using SPSSv20 software. The calcium scoring was 0 as negative and > 0 as positive. Results: The median age was 62 years, 55.2% were men. Most patients, 50.7%, were between 45 and 64 years old. 9 (13.4%) patients were identified with arterial hypertension, 35 (52.2%) patients were overweight, and 41 (61.2%) patients with high triglycerides. Systolic blood pressure in mmHg ≥ 140 RP 1.76 (IC 95%: 1.01 – 3.08 p 0.036) was determined; the remaining variables were no significant. Conclusions: Calcium score positive is associated with Systolic blood pressure in mmHg ≥ 140Item Dosis de efectividad de radiación utilizada en estudios de cráneo, cuello, tórax y abdomen con un tomógrafo multicorte de 64 canales en el Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga Cuenca, septiembre del 2014-febrero del 2015(2015) Montenegro Córdova, Andrea Cristina; Toalón Idrovo, Henry Paúl; Ortiz Sagba, Nelson Ramiro; Freire Argudo, Marco VinicioComputed tomography allowing TCM has great advances in noninvasive diagnosis of various diseases. At present most of the applied radiation arises from the use of CT, followed by nuclear medicine and fluoroscopy. The aim of our research was to determine the effective dose in studies of skull, neck, thorax and abdomen with a 64-channel Multislice Tomography in Arteaga's José Carrasco Hospital in Cuenca Cato, during the period from September to February 2014 -2015. 3129 cases with a mean age of 48.58 years with the largest age group in patients 16 years and older with 90.3% were studied; the most common female sex was 50.5%. 4 types of tomographic methods were studied, being the most frequent with 68.1% skull and neck less frequent with 1%. The maximum effective dose used was 21,98mSv in the group of 16 years or more and the minimum 0,38mSv in studies of the skull of the same group. The effective dose in all CT without contrast in the group aged 16 and over did not exceed baseline levels. The value of the effective dose in all CT with contrast in the group aged 16 years and over exceeded baseline levels. Because no reference levels effective dose for pediatric groups found, the DLP was studied found higher levels in the first age group. The results obtained in this research will be disseminated in the Journal of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cuenca and study serve as a basis for future comparisons.Item Dosis de radiación, tiempo fluoroscópico de procedimientos intervencionistas en hemodinámica del Hospital "José Carrasco Arteaga" Cuenca, enero-diciembre 2012(2013-11-11) Castillo Matute, Ana Lisseth; Castro López, Ana María; Ortiz Sagba, Nelson Ramiro; Auquilla Díaz, Nancy EulaliaThe main objective of the research was to analyzed the radiation dosage, fluoroscopic time in hemodynamic procedures performed at the “Jose Carrasco Arteaga” hospital located in the Cuenca, during the period of January – December 2012. The retrospective and descriptive methodology was used. The research was performed in a total of 300 patients’ records that were treated in the hemodynamic department. It was determined that 93% of the patients received a radiation dosage lower than 1mSv and only 7% was greater than 1mSv. The most frequent hemodynamic procedure was the Coronariography with 31% and the combined Coronariography / angioplasty with stent corresponded to 8%. The largest time range for fluoroscopy was 1-20 minutes with 91% of the patients. The 2% of the range corresponded to 40-60 minutes, meanwhile 57% of the patients it was found a range of 1-20 minutes. Only 4% of the range was greater than 80 minutes. It was found that most patients treated was in an age range of 61 to 80 years old (at 51%), whereas only 5% corresponded to a range greater than 80 years old. The most frequency of patients treated belongs to males with 65%.
