Social skills are the ability to behave assertively in different situations that require interaction with other people. These skills are important in the educational context because it allows the teacher to relate positively with colleagues and students, improving the work and classroom climate for enriching learning. The objective of this research is to identify the social skills of teachers of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Cuenca. The present study has a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and descriptive scope. The study was carried out with a population of 32 teachers, to whom the Gismero Social Skills Scale was applied together with a sociodemographic register. The results showed that women had a high command in all six dimensions and men scored high in five, except in defense of their own rights as consumers. There are differences in the predominance of social skills according to the years of experience as university teachers: among the participants who reported having 4 to 11 months and 21 or more years of experience, the dimension with the highest scores was "Saying no and cutting interactions", while for teachers between 1-5 years the predominant one was "Self-expression in social situations", and finally for those who reported between 6-10 and 11-15 years of experience the dominant one was "Expression of angry and disagreement". From the results, it is concluded that the teachers of the Faculty of Psychology have a domain of their social skills.
